  4. On 5-09-011 the “Teacher’s Day” was celebrated with Zest and fervour Morning Assembly was conducted by the teachers. The Portrait of Dr.Radha Krishna was garlanded by Hon’ble Principal Ms. Samarjit Kaur. Classes were taken by the Pupil teachers for the first half of the day.

ABOUT KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA SANGATHAN

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is an autonomous organization under the ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. The Headquarters of KVs is located at 18, Institutional Area, Shaheed jeet Singh Marg, New Delhi 110016 ( Phone No. 011-26858570 (Board), Fax- 011-26514179, E-mail kvssao@nic.in ) the KVS administers its schemes through 18 Regional Offices, one each at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna and Silchar. There are 979 Kendriya Vidyalayas at present including 03 located abroad one each at Moscow, Kathmandu and Tehran. Each Kendriya Vidyalaya has its Vidyalaya Management committee headed by a senior officer from Defence/Civil Services/Educationist etc. All the Kendriya Vidyalayas are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

Kendriya Vidyalayas are composite co-educational institutions, imparting education from class I to XII. However, some of the Kendriya Vidyalayas are functioning up to X standard.

KVS has 9,54,583 students on roll as on 01.04.07 and a dedicated team of 39,159 teaching and non-teaching staff as on 01.04.07.

Admissions to Kendriya Vidyalayas are granted as per the policy guidelines approved by its Board of Governors ; as given in KVS Admission Guidelines.

All examinations and promotions are governed by the rates as incorporated in the Education code for Kendriya Vidyalayas.

We also collaborate with NCERT, NIEPA, CBSE and other institutions in our educational endeavour.

We train our teachers and other staff on the latest development in the field of education through our 03 Zonal Institutes of Education and Training located at Gwalior, Mumbai and Mysore.

We also have teacher exchange programmes with foreign countries/orgaisations.

For overall development of students, some KVs have sports facilities of high standard like sqash courts, swimming pools, etc.

 All the medal winners at the SGFI meet are awarded cash prize of Rs 6000/- for Gold ; Rs 4000/- for silver and Rs2000/- for bronze.

 KVS also prepares students for International Math Olympiads, Jr. Nehru Science Exhibition, School Games Federation of India, Presidents Awards for Scout & Guides activities through competitions at various levels.

 All Kendriya Vidyalayas have Parent Teachers Associations for effective internal co-operation and muster support at local level.

 We also undertake survey and studies to monitor our progress from time to time.

 No tuition fees charge from the girls students in Kendriya vidyalayas. However, a nominal amount toward Vidyalaya Vikas nidhi is charged form the students. Girl child who happens to be the only child of the parents, is exempted from the payment of all fees including VVN.

 Due emphasises is laid on computer education and computer assisted education. Pupil PC ratio at present 39 :1.

 All the Kendriya Vidyalayas have registered their teachers and students in educational portal called Think.com and they use it effectively to expand their knowledge horizon.

 To promote national integration and international understanding, We organize KVS National level Social Science Exhibition every year.

 We organize Youth Parliament competitions under the guidance of Ministry of parliamentary Affairs.

 Every year KVS gives 50 Incentive Award to its meritorious teachers and Principals.

 Up to 16 teachers including Principals of KVS are given National Award by the President of India every year.

To initiate and promote experimentations and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like CBSE, NCERT, etc.

To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of “Indianness” among children.

The aim of education is to develop the personality of each child keeping the environmental pressure and the need of the society in view, A child of tomorrow will have to acquire the tools of knowledge management, self competition, assertiveness, self discipline, initative , goal clarity and information technology. This is possible by developing among children the love for school and the interest in studies.

The school seeks the co-operation of the parents in developing their children to become positive thinking citizens of tomorrow society.
